VINE 2026 – AI in Victorian Schools

In 2023, VINE partnered with Leon Furze to develop and launch The VINE Generative Artificial Intelligence Guidelines based on the Australian Framework. They were published under a Creative Commons licence and written for a fictional “VINE School” so that member schools could contextualise and adapt immediately within their learning communities.
We’ve decided it’s time for an update to further support schools interrogate and structure their exploration of Gen AI, organised around three interconnected pillars:
- Teaching and Learning
- Ethics and Wellbeing
- Privacy and Security
On Tuesday 31 March 2026, we’re launching Version 2 of the Guidelines with an action-packed day facilitated by Leon and various educators from Victorian schools. It’s an opportunity for teachers, Digital Learning Coordinators, ICT Managers, Business Managers and Senior Leaders to come together to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with Gen AI in Schools and develop strategies for governance and effective use.
